  • dilly bag
    noun:- An aboriginal term for a small carry bag that has crept into general Australia language.

  • dimwit
    noun:- a person of low intelligence, usually used as an insult. See also Drongo.

  • dingaling, dingbat
    noun:- a foolish or irresponsible person.

  • dingo
    noun:- The Australian wild dog, that howls but does not bark. Brought to Australia thousands of year ago by the Aborigines, the scientific name is "canis lupus familiaris". It can also be used to describe an ugly woman.

  • dinkum
    adjective:- real, honest or genuine. Can also be used to question validity, e.g.., dinkum? See also fair dinkum.

  • dinky di
    adjective:- the genuine article or the real thing, especially if the object is from Australia. See also True Blue, and fair dinkum.

  • dirty
    verb:- to be angry or annoyed about something or with someone.

  • dob in, to
    verb:- to inform on or to grass, considered a social sin.

  • dodgy
    adjective:- below standard, awkward, suspicious or underhanded. Similar to the American "Cheesy".

  • dogs breakfast
    adjective:- a mess
